Sorry for this late post. I've been very busy with cleaning the house and babysitting that I hadn't had the time to get online. But now with school back up I have the time since I din't get a whole lot of homework today!! so... READ ON!!
Happy Late New Year
Do not say, "Why were the old days better than these?" For It Is not wise to ask such questions.
- Ecclesiastes 7:10
God Himself does not want us to go back or think that the older days were better. Perhaps you've sometimes found yourself saying, " Oh how I wish I was a child again, things were so much easier!" Yes! they might have been easier, but God has a plan for all of us and it is Not wise to wish upon the old days! We must remember that we are not alone. We must trust in God wholeheartedly, and we must spend this new year in a Joyous pursuit of heavenly things, (godly) than earthly things (Ungodly).
My resolutions for this new year! (Whats a new years post without resolutions included in it?)
*Disclaimer: Before I made this list, I read this resolutions from visionarydaughters.com and I really thought they included everything I mostly might hope to accomplish this year with God's help. scroll down to find the post once you click the link. It's an old post but it was a blessing for me!
- Resolve to use the Bible alone as a blueprint for thinking and living.
- Resolve to remove friends who are a negative influence. ( surround myself more with heavenly/godly things.)
- Build stronger relationships with family members.
- Cultivate a deeper, closer, more honoring relationship with father. ( I really need to work on this one, sadly.)
- Resolve to treat and think of other young men as brothers in Christ. Dress and act modestly, in a way that shows consideration for their future wives.
- Clothe myself with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit. Make "Strength and dignity" my clothing. Stand up straight! smile more and work on developing a gentle, quiet voice and manner.
- Be a missionary right where I am!
- No more reading romance novels! ( I have to try and keep my mind and whatever I do focused on God wholeheartedly.)
- Exercise and clean the house more!
Well that's my list. I have more things I wish to accomplish but I want to take it one step at a time.
For those who have no resolutions for this year, this 2 are simple! ( to me, they sum up all of what I Just wrote.)
"Resolution One: I will live for God.
Resolution Two: If no one else does, I still will.”
Resolution Two: If no one else does, I still will.”
I got that from A WISE WOMAN BUILDS HER HOME!! You can subscribe to her blog and it really is a blessing, even if the blogger mostly focuses on mothers. You can learn a thing or two that will bless you. :D
Few verses for new year
- Jeremiah 29:11 -"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
2 Corinthians 5:17 -Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is! I'm making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.- Isaiah 43:19
Your sister in Christ,
Zipporah,
God bless!
Happy New Year to you too!
